On June 11, 2021, the MSBA Public Law Section awarded the 2021 Public Lawyer Diversity Award to the Executive Committee of the Minnesota Association of City Attorneys (MACA). The Executive Committee includes Campbell Knutson Attorney Jared Shepherd, Maria Cisneros, and Tom Jacobson. MACA, through the Executive Committee, was integral to the formation of Just Deeds. Campbell Knutson is a law firm partner of Just Deeds. Additionally, in Fall of 2020, MACA commenced the Facing Forward speaker series to discuss systemic racism in Minnesota communities. The Public Lawyer Diversity Award recognizes these two initiatives.
