Cole Birkeland is an attorney at Campbell Knutson, P.A. He practices in the area of general municipal law, which consists of conducting research and preparing documents in order to provide municipal clients with both sound legal advice in a general counsel capacity and diligent advocacy on litigation matters.
Cole graduated summa cum laude from the University of Northwestern – St. Paul with a B.S. in history and a minor in political science, where he was active in numerous student organizations. Cole continued his education by obtaining a J.D. from the University of Minnesota Law School. While in law school, Cole served as a research assistant to Professor Robert A. Stein and also participated in the Resilient Communities Project by coauthoring a report analyzing Minnesota’s EMS laws. His passion to improve communities naturally dovetailed into working as a law clerk at two eminent firms specializing in the area of local government and municipal law. Cole joined the firm as an attorney in 2022 and finds it rewarding and inspiring to regularly use legal skills to further a wide range of public goals.
